Registering to take Quiz is just a sign-in process using valid Google account AND setting School/Club in the Profile page.
Once both these are completed, you should be able to see the JOIN button enabled for an active Quiz.
You can confirm your registration by ensuring you are logged (Menu-Login) and Menu-Profile-School has valid school selection.
Yes, a person can take same Quiz multiple times when scheduled, and can also take multiple Quiz levels.
All scores and levels they attempted for the active competition year (Aug to Jun) will be shared with their school / club who will decide if they choose the first score for the Theni format being evaluated for.
No, no specific word list is provided for the Quiz. Any preparation for the actual competition will indeed help in taking the Quiz, including practicing published word lists.
Quiz will start at the scheduled time.
We recommend participants to attend one or more Practice sessions (scheduled usually a day before). At the practice session, you can confirm your registration, school profile setting, audio recordings, how to submit errors etc.
Practice sessions will also have a Zoom/Meet session to take Q&A. Final Quiz sessions will not have any live person to answer your questions or troubleshoot technical issues.
Quiz times shown in Quiz web app (https://quiz.tamiltheni.org) are automatically shown in your devices timezone. So, if you are using a Windows laptop from Phoenix, AZ and your computer is set to MST, time shown should be local to your time.
In message window (in Home page) when time is mentioned, time zone will be mentioned explicitly.
No, unlike in the actual competition, in Quiz, there will be no live person to interact with the Quiz takers.
If the children are too young to read, we recommend a responsible adult to ONLY help read the English word and in some cases help with clicking within the app.
The Quiz app itself doesn’t check for participants age.
We recommend following the same age restrictions used for the competitions (refer to Competitions web page for date of birth / age calculation).
The scores will be sent to the School/Club who will use their internal age references as part of the team selection process.
Scores will be displayed live as the Quiz progresses in user’s screen. Users can also see their last score in their Profile page.
Leaderboard will show the top 10 of the active / last quiz.
A day after the quiz, any adjustment to the score (after error reports are reviewed by Quiz team), will be reflected in the web app.
Adjusted scores will be sent to the respective school/club and Zonal Coordinators.
