FAQ for 2022 Semi-finals and Finals

Semi-final competitions for all levels will be conducted online this year, similar to Regional & Zonal competitions. It is scheduled for June 11 & 12th (weekend). Click this link for the tentative schedule.

Sivaram (Siva) is the Tamil Theni coordinator from this year’s host city, New York. He will be the primary contact for semi finals and finals competitions.

All the Finalists (Zonal winners) will be added to a Finals WhatsApp group by June 13th to get  periodic updates and get clarifications.

2022 finals is tentatively planned for July 2nd / 3rd. Final competition will be held in-person in New York.

Zonal winners joining the semi-finals are expected to travel to New York if they qualify for finals.

No. FeTNA or Tamil Theni will not be able to sponsor travel or accommodation.

Teams will have to register for the FeTNA event – Click here. Registration package has options to include accommodation at pre-negotiated rates.

Note that FeTNA Convention (Peravai Thiruvizha – https://fetna-convention.org/) is a grand event to introduce the best of Tamil Culture to US audience. Being recognized on stage among other major events is a true honor for the contestants who make it all the way.

No new words will be published for semi-finals & finals.
However, do note that 2 to 3 questions may come from outside what was published so far. Those words will be based on items that children should be familiar from exposure to Tamil usage in social settings, movies, media and news.

For each Level, there will be two semifinals. The winner and runner teams from each semifinals will move to finals, for a total of four teams in finals.
